Why does it feel like we have to pack our entire house when we go on vacation? It’s not that serious, but it feels like the “what ifs” nag us until we have way too much to take on a plane or fit in the car.

Disney is a magical place, where you will create core memories as a family. When it comes to planning family vacations, you just can’t get better than Disney!

And as someone who goes to Disney parks on a regular basis, I’m here to tell you that you don’t need nearly as much as you think you do: even if you’re traveling with a baby or toddlers.

What To Bring To Disney

After taking my kids to Disney a few times, I’ve finally curated a list of essential items to bring to Disney. These are the things you will definitely need (other than clothes and toiletries, of course!).

And you can find this (and more as I add them) on my Kids’ Travel Picks Amazon list. Just click add-to-cart and your vacation shopping is done!

Portable Pram Fan

Keep your kids cool with a portable rechargeable fan. This is my favorite one because it fits on any stroller and it has a lot of power. It really works! You can even pick it up and hold it closer to your face on those really hot days.

WaterWipes

One of the best things about Disney is eating Disney food. All the treats and snacks are half the fun! But between churros and Dole Whip, kids will get seriously sticky. WaterWipes are my favorite portable wet wipes. They’re water-based, so they’re great for sensitive skin. And they’re strong, able to clean up a squirmy toddler that just wants to give Mickey a hug!

Foldable Stroller

What is the best stroller for Disney World? I’m a big fan of UPPAbaby – especially the MinuV3 Travel Stroller. It doesn’t take a physics degree to fold it up, the canopy offers plenty of coverage, and the basket helps you carry your stuff. It has all of this and it’s still super lightweight.

Wired Headphones

Whether you’re flying or taking a roadtrip, you’re gonna need some headphones for your kids. And don’t mess with wireless – it’s one more thing to remember to charge. I love the JLab JBuddies headphones. They’re the perfect size for kids, won’t get so loud they damage their hearing, and they fold up so they’re easy to store.

Pull-Ups

Vacation is not the time to worry about potty training. Focus on making memories, and taking each minute at a time. Pack Pull-Ups, especially if your kiddos are struggling with nighttime dryness. And don’t overpack them. You can always buy more when you get there.

Baby Backpack

Parents, I think we all know how annoying it is to try and carry a diaper bag on one shoulder while corralling kiddos with your other hand. That’s why I’m such a big fan of the UPPAbaby Changing Backpack. Not only is it made to fit on the UPPABaby stroller I linked to earlier, but inside it has compartments for every single thing you need. It even has a separate carrier for a water bottle (and it has its own handle).

This is worth the investment. It’s my number one must-have! From the outside, it doesn’t look like a diaper bag. And it’s super durable, so as your kids grow, you can use it as your favorite travel backpack. Get it. You will love it as much as I do.

Packing List Summary

Here’s a quick list of all the must-haves we outlined:

What To Leave At Home

Ok, now that you know what to bring to Disney when you travel with toddlers, let’s look at what not to bring!

Selfie Sticks

Not only are they not needed, they’re actually not allowed in the parks at all. Gimbals and stablizers are allowed – just not those really long sticks. Thankfully, there is always a Disney cast member around, ready to take any photos or videos that you need.

Wagons

Did you know baby wagons are also banned from the parks? Yup! Your stroller must be smaller than 31″ wide by 52″ long to be allowed in the parks.

Bad Shoes

You’ll be walking. A LOT. Make sure you and your kids have shoes you all love. Don’t use anything that might make your feet hurt (like those flip-flop or thong sandles that hurt in between your toes).

Anything Heavy

The heaviest thing you should bring is your water bottle. With all the walking you’ll be doing, you need to pack light for your day at the parks.

Bring Your Excitement To Disney!

Now you know what to bring to Disney with toddlers! The most important thing of all is to get excited and make a big ‘ol wishlist of characters you want to meet and experiences you want to see. This is the time to laugh together, eat yummy treats together, and make the best memories ever. Leave the packing list to me. I’ve got ya!
